Empowering Visually Impaired Children in India
In rural parts of India, most kids who are visually impaired are left out of traditional schools. Braille education and resources are rare, and even when students are eager to learn, the tools aren't available.
Light of Letters is changing that. Their programs bring education, dignity, and opportunity to visually impaired kids who would otherwise be without.
Through our partnership, smartphones donated to Kids Connect are transformed into accessible learning tools. We program each phone to feature talk-to-text, screen readers, interactive audio learning, and large text. These tools, paired with pre-downloaded apps that give access to accessible books, are giving kids education and connection opportunities that once felt impossible.
